Hiring processes can feel overwhelming, so we want to ensure you have as much information as possible to prepare you for getting a job with Clinigen. Here are some of the most common questions we receive from candidates to help you through the process.

Finding a career fit

Where are Clinigen’s offices located?

Clinigen is a global company with offices around the world. You can view a list of our locations and find out a little more about working in them here.

What is the culture like at Clinigen?

You can learn more about what it’s like to work at Clinigen on our Culture page.

What kind of growth opportunities are there at Clinigen?

We’re proud to have development planning as a high priority area across our business. Every employee has a personal development plan to help them grow from where they are currently to where they want to be.

Some of our roles have clear growth trajectories (where we see many colleagues move laterally up the hierarchy), but we also support growth opportunities that take people outside of their day-to-day work to learn about a different specialty or business area.

We’re here to support all employees’ growth with personalised approaches.

Do you offer entry level positions?

Yes, we have many positions ranging from entry to senior levels. We post these positions onto our site once they're available.

Do you offer flexible work schedules?

Employees regularly work with their managers on a case-by-case basis to evaluate flexible work arrangements, including part-time, job-sharing, and remote working based on employee and business needs.

If flex-work is important to you, be sure to mention it to your recruiter so they can find out if it’s possible in the role you’re pursuing.

Can I work for Clinigen remotely?

Since Spring 2020, the majority of our employees have worked from home in roles where it has been possible to do so to ensure their safety in the COVID-19 climate.

We regularly review ways in which we can balance employee flexibility with our business needs, and we can discuss this as part of your interview process but we would like that all employees have the ability to attend an office regularly.

It is not possible to work for us remotely in a country where we do not have a registered office on a long-term basis.

The position I wanted to apply for is no longer available. Can I still apply?

We regularly post new positions and remove positions that are no longer open. We also actively remove roles that have been filled.

If a job is not listed, that means we’re no longer taking applications for the position at this time.

I want to apply for one of your jobs, but I don’t have the right to work in the country where the job is based. Will you sponsor me?

At the current time, we are unable to sponsor applicants to join our business, therefore you must have the current right to work in the country the role is based in.

Applying for a role

How do I apply for a job at Clinigen?

We are excited that you’d like to grow your career with us! The best way is to review our current vacancies and apply here.

Once you’ve created a profile, you’ll be able to apply for additional roles, set up job alerts and view the status of your application(s).

What information should I include on my CV?

We want to learn about your latest accomplishments, your strengths, and how your specific skillset would be applied to a position at Clinigen, so make sure your CV is as up to date as possible.

It’s okay to have a longer resume but be sure your summaries are succinct and relevant.

Can I apply for more than one job?

Yes, you can apply for multiple roles that fit your qualifications, skillset, and interests.

Do you have an employee referral scheme?

We do have an employee referral scheme, so we encourage you to reach out to any friends who currently work at Clinigen so that they can submit your information.

I want to join Clinigen, but I can’t find a suitable vacancy at the moment. Can I just send my CV/resume speculatively?

Yes, absolutely. Please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter, detailing the roles and locations you would be interested in to recruitment@clinigengroup.com.

Your details will be added to our database so that we can contact you about suitable vacancies.

Applying with disabilities

Clinigen is an equal opportunities employer. If you have a disability, long-term health condition, or an injury that could require adjustments or accommodations to either the facilities or the application process, you have the opportunity to indicate this while filling out your application form.

For any follow-up queries or additional support after you have submitted your application, please contact us at recruitment@clinigengroup.com.

Do you accept submissions from agencies or third-party suppliers?

Clinigen likes to recruit directly wherever possible, therefore we will not respond to any unsolicited emails relating to agencies or third-party suppliers through this site.

How do I know if you have received my application?

If you have applied for a role with Clinigen through our careers portal, you will receive an email confirmation confirming receipt of your application.

Our goal is to keep candidates informed of their status throughout the recruitment process; however, due to the large volume of applications we receive for some of our roles, we are unable to personally respond to each one every single time.

I’ve submitted a job application. What is the next step?

Our recruitment team will review job applicants for each vacancy and will reach out to those who appear a strong match for the role.

Even if you’re not contacted for the job you applied for, your information will be added to our candidate database, which means you may be contacted about other opportunities with Clinigen at a later date.

Clinigen’s recruitment process

What factors are considered when Clinigen reviews my CV/resume?

First, we consider the qualifications required by the role compared to those outlined in your completed application.

Qualifications include, but are not limited to education, certifications, past work experience, and skills.

One of our ‘Clinigen Way’ core values is maintaining integrity and as such, we are committed to role modelling fair and inclusive recruitment practices while acting in accordance with all employment regulations.

My application has been regretted without an interview; can I request some feedback?

Unfortunately, due to the high volumes of applications we receive, we are unable to offer you individual feedback on your application at the shortlisting stage of the recruitment process.

What should I expect during the interview process?

Depending on the role you’ve applied for, our recruitment process could involve a number of different stages.

For most positions, you’ll have a short telephone interview with a member of the recruitment team which will last around 30 minutes and helps us get to know you better and assess key skills you’ll need for the role.

If there's interest on both sides, we’ll invite you for a face-to-face interview, either on-site or virtually given the COVID-19 climate. The interview is typically with the hiring manager and other internal stakeholders where required.

We'll evaluate your skills and experience against the needs of the business and the role. We'll ask you about your academic and work experience, normally through behavioural/competency-based interview questions, and there’s opportunity for you to ask questions too.

We may also ask you to complete an online written assessment, language skills testing or prepare a presentation if the role requires a more specific skillset, but you’ll be made aware of this as part of the recruitment process.

How can I prepare for an interview?

It’s always useful to run through how your prior work experience has prepared you for the role you’re pursuing at Clinigen.

You should also come with a few examples in mind that demonstrate your strengths, as well as any questions you have about the opportunity.

You should also review the job description and do a bit of research on our company. You can learn more about our company, mission, and vision here and visit our careers pages to find out more about life at Clinigen.

Preparing for behavioural/competency-based interviewing

Our interviews are usually based around open-ended behavioural questions. These ask about past situations or challenges you’ve faced and how you handled them, so it’s useful to consider the requirements of the role you’re interviewing for and think of examples you could use to let your skillset shine. Here are some examples of common questions:

  • Tell me how you’ve taken on leading a project.
  • Describe a difficult situation you’ve encountered and how you solved it.
  • Can you give an example of a time when you led a team?
  • Describe a time you’ve had to deal with conflict and how you resolved it.
Virtual interviews

If you’ve been asked to attend a virtual interview, it will likely take place over Microsoft Teams, our company video-conferencing tool.

The meeting link will be emailed to you by your recruitment contact prior to the interview so please ensure you check the link and if you have any technical issues then let us know in good time before the meeting.

Here are some tips to effectively prepare for an online interview:

  • Find a quiet and comfortable place with no distractions
  • Use a computer with a reliable connection and access to email. If you're using a mobile phone, make sure you’re in a place with good signal
  • Have a copy of your CV on hand and paper and a pen readily available in case you want to jot any points down during the discussion
  • Ensure your device is set up well with your camera working prior to the meeting; interviewing over video sometimes limits the ability to communicate with body language but ideally being able to see your face helps progress the flow of the conversation
  • Behave as you would if you were in the room with the interview panel. Your enthusiasm, body language, handshake and early small talk all help you build an in-person connection so when communicating virtually, it's still necessary to find ways to establish rapport. You can do this by being prepared to talk about a common interest, asking how your interviewer’s experience has been with virtual interviews or by finding some other neutral topic with which to learn more about your interviewer
How is a virtual interview different from an in-person interview?

The virtual interview is merely the digital version of an in-person interview.

The assessment methodology is the same in both the formats and there is no advantage for the applicant in either format.

It is more a matter of convenience and ease of scheduling an interview when the interviewers and the applicants are in different locations.

What to expect post-interview

How soon will I know if a hiring decision has been made?

Your recruiter can help you understand the specific timeline for the opening you've applied for.

You should hear back from them with a status update within a week of your interview.

How can I ask any questions I forgot during the interview process, or send a follow-up thank you to my interviewers?

You can send these through to your interview contact in the recruitment team directly or alternatively email recruitment@clinigengroup.com.

I’ve been successful in my application! What is your onboarding process?

Great news and we’re excited for you to join the team! A member of the HR team will be in direct contact to send your offer paperwork and request that you complete our joiner’s paperwork.

We’ll also liaise with you to agree a mutually beneficial start date and your line manager will reach out to confirm your induction arrangements for your first days with the business.
